         BABE RUTH BASEBALL

INTRODUCTION

Babe Ruth is a competitive level of baseball and is primarily a high school developmental league. BR is for athletes, 13-15 years old, who desire to continue playing baseball beyond the smaller Cal Ripken size fields. At this level, teams  play on a regulation baseball diamond (90 ft base path and 60' ft 6" pitching distance).

The rules in this division follow conventional baseball with the exception of pitching restrictions and innings played.

Windsor competes in the Santa Rosa Babe Ruth program against Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park teams. Because of the competive nature of this division and due to limited manager volunteers, we can only place players onto teams who meet a minimum level of play suitable to high school preparation and up to a maximum of 12-14 per team.  Approximately 2 teams may be formed for the 13 Prep league and 1-2 teams for the 14-15 year old division.

For the player who desires to play baseball until the age of 15 at a recreational level we recommend that they pursue the Juniors and Seniors level baseball offered in nearby Healdsburg and Mark West Little leagues. We encourage families to attend try outs in the other league as a back just in case.

Players who live north of Old Redwood Hyw beginning at Pleasant Ave and continuing to Westside Rd must register with Healdsburg Little League.
Players who live south of Old Redwood Hwy beginning at Pleasant Ave and continuing towards Shiloh and Aiport Blvd must register with Mark West.

TEAM PLACEMENT:

New teams are formed each year. Beginning in 2010, teams in all divisions will be formed by a Committee comprised of the VP, Player Agent, Director of Player Development and all Player Reps. This group will use the assessment ratings as well as each player's evaluations from the prior seasons.

As stated above, it's highly likely not all of the players who participate in assessments will be chosen to participate on the Babe Ruth teams. For those players who do not meet the minimum required skill level, but desire to continue playing baseball at a recreational level, we encourage you to pursue opportunities with other local recreational leagues.
