If you have ever coached a youth sports team, you know the time and dedication required. The hours spent by the coaching staff (practicing, preparing line-ups, coaching games, field maintenance, etc) are too numerous to count. Many more minor duties are assumed by the manager that could be delegated to volunteers.
Parents can help ease the burden of their manager/coaches. When you have your first team meeting and the manager asks for volunteers, raise your hand! (Bringing snacks does not count as a job!) If routine tasks are broken into smaller parts, there will be jobs for every family to do at each game.
By taking over these jobs, your manager/coach can do what he/she signed up to do. COACH!!
